Subject:SLV singles
Posted by:marie13.
Time:12:22 pm.
I am starting a 40+ singles group for folks in the Felton, SLV, Santa Cruz area. The intent is to get together for activities (walks, dinner, movies, music, festivals, game nights, whatnot) and a chance to meet other singles and make friends. The group will be self supporting, you pay your own way, no fees and run by consensus. If it takes off, we can share the planning, emailing duties. We already have 5 people, but have not had a first mtg yet. If interested, Please email me if you meet the criteria (single 40+ and live in the area SC co. area).

I saw "carved bears 1/2 off!" in the interests and decided that I absolutely had to join. I've been passing those signs all my life --- does anyone know if there was ever a point when the bears weren't half off?

Incidentally, hi. I'm Morgayn, a sixteen-year-old homeschooler who was born and raised in Boulder Creek. Nice to meet you.

Subject:Ciao Bella!
Posted by:xsg.
Time:8:44 pm.

Has Ciao Bella gone downhill recently, or did I just hit it on an off night?  The dancers weren't spirited or into it, the food was mediocre, the new menu seems to be lacking a few of my older favorites, and there just wasn't much fun to be had...

It's not like I'm going to stop going anytime soon, but I sure hope it was just a blah night...

Subject:Lost Cat
Posted by:melalthia.
Time:9:36 pm.
Lost our cat on Friday, July 30th at Fern Drive and Highway 9 in Boulder Creek. We think the coyotes got him but we still wanted to put the word out there incase anyone picked him up.

Name: Zeus
Sex: Male
Age: 8 years

Domestic Medium Haired cat. Mostly grey with a small white patch of white under his chin and a pink nose. Fairly large: 12 pounds and looks like a Maine Coon. Has green eyes. Was wearing a black leather collar with steel , diamond-shaped studs. Tag has his name Zeus and a 510 number which is my cell phone. Microchipped with current address and phone number. He has been vaccinated for FIV so if he is tested he will test POSTIVE, but this does not mean he has FIV. Any info regarding his whereabouts from 8am Friday the 30th of July will be appreciated and if anyone manages to return him to us they will be rewarded. NO QUESTIONS ASKED. Just email me at mac@hiddentower.com If you find him and he is injured, please take him to the Boulder Creek Vet hospital. He's on file there.

Hi. I hope this isn't off-topic. I'm from Fresno.

I might transfer to Santa Cruz county with my job. I was considering buying a home in the Santa Cruz mountain area. I am familiar with Santa Cruz and Capitola and I've visited Felton. I was wondering how you feel about living where you do, what your main complaints are when it comes to living there, and if there's anything I ought to know as an "outsider." Thanks for your time.

The annual Boulder Creek Art & Wine Festival is happening this weekend. It's really neat to see that many people crowd the tiny town of Boulder Creek, so I suggest you go if you haven't already been. Some people like it, some don't, but most do.

Have a great weekend everyone.

I added some more things to the "interests" list as well as deleting a couple (cabrillo and cabrillo college, because there's already a Santa Cruz community). I also took some pictures while I was out today and added those to the info page so people can see the kind of area the Santa Cruz mountains is.

If there are any interests that people think should be added, let me know. Also, the "about" part of the info page is lacking any actual information about the area, so if anyone has any ideas of what should be said there, again, let me know.

Has anyone noticed any bright lights in the area? How about a director shouting "ACTION"? Well, it could be because for the past couple of weeks a movie has been filming in the area. More specifically, the filming has been taking place in Boulder Creek and Brookdale.

The movie is titled "Graves End," which I mistook, at first, for "General Electric" and I assumed it was a commercial. I only thought that because the little signs said "GE SET," and not "Graves End Set."

I'm not sure if any of you know who he is, but Eric Roberts is starring in the movie. Other actors/actresses in it are: Steven Williams (Mr. X from X-files), Valerie Makita, and Daniel Roebuck (Mr. Banks from Agent Cody Banks). It's a suspense thriller that takes place in a small logging town. It's about a kidnapping and how when the justice system fails, the town takes things into its own hands. I'm going by what the Valley Press said in Wednesday's issue.

Anyway, I just thought it was kind of neat. Personally, I'd like to see more films being shot in the area. I love this area and all the trees and creeks. I'd like the rest of the world to enjoy the beauty that I enjoy. Plus, I wouldn't mind running into some hot actors/actresses. (Wink wink) Eric Roberts isn't hot, by the way. I mean, I guess he could be to you if you're the same age as him.

This community is pretty neat. I'd like to see it grow a lot more.

Does those that post here live in the Valley? Or elsewhere in the SC Mountains. I'm not asking for addresses or anything, but just getting the feel. I'm actually no longer in the Valley. Unfortunately, I moved out of Boulder Creek in 2001, and moved to Clear Lake area, the most awful, wretched place to live in your 20s. Ech, so happy to get out. I'm now in Santa Rosa, but will actually be down in Felton visiting friends next week. God, I miss that place. I'd give my car to be back there. Of course, without a car, I couldn't do much down there. Whatever. So, yeah, just curious if people live there, or if their doing the same thing as I, trying to reconnect in anyway possible.

Subject:Restaurant Review
Posted by:melalthia.
Time:9:12 pm.

So after living here for a year, we finally went and had dinner at the Tyrellian Inn, in Ben Lomond. Not bad! Kind of pricey, but the beer was served frothy in tankards and the food was mighty tasty... if not a bit heavy. Check it out sometime when you want to go splurge. Could be real fun to just go in for beer and potato pancakes with apple sauce. Yum yum.

It made me wish i had stopped in when October Fest was going on.
